Benefits — Medical, Dental & Vision
Benefits Philosophy
We value our people and seek to offer benefits that help each employee bring their best self to work. To that end we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. You can find the plan documents in our human resources software, Bamboo. The plan documents are the final authority in all matters relating to benefits described in this Handbook and will govern in the event any conflicts arise.
We will notify you if we terminate, suspend, or modify any benefits programs. To make sure that your benefits are appropriately administered to you, inform Operations by email of any changes to your personal data such as:
- Name
- Marital/Domestic Partner status
- Exemptions for tax forms purposes
- Birth or adoption of children
- Home address and/or telephone number
- Death of spouse/legal domestic partner, children
- Loss of external coverage (for example, through your significant other's workplace)
If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask the Operations Team.
Medical Insurance
Glitch provides medical insurance coverage for eligible staff members and their dependents. We cover 100% of premiums, including when you add dependents. We have a high-deductible plan, but we also provide a benefits card that can be used to pay for all in-network and some out-of-network costs, up to the deductible level. Eligible employees are covered as of their start date. Dependents are fully covered only if they are not enrolled in another health insurance plan. To help access your health care benefits, we also provide you with a health care concierge service and an independent primary care practice.
Our health plan’s year runs from November 1 to October 31st, with open enrollment typically happening in early October, prior to the new plan year beginning. Open enrollment is when any changes to your health care elections can happen. Once the open enrollment window is closed, you will need to wait until the next year’s open enrollment period to change or elect new coverage, unless you have a qualifying life event, such as marriage or birth of a child. If you have a qualifying life event you will have a personal open enrollment window of 30 days to change your elections if you wish. It is your responsibility to let the Operations Team know if you have a qualifying life event so they can send you the information to change your elections if you wish.
Dental and Vision Insurance
Glitch also provides dental and vision insurance for eligible staff and their dependents.
Information about what services are covered can be found in your health insurance provider, Aetna and your dental insurance provider, Guardian.
